More room for guests.
More room for Bougainville to meet.
NBC PNG reported that Jomik Group was advancing a new four-storey Bovotel building in Arawa. The published plan placed guest accommodation across three floors, with the top floor dedicated to meetings, conferences and indoor events.
The report described 30 spacious rooms and positioned the project as an important new high-rise for Arawa and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville. It also linked the expansion with employment, hospitality training and growing business confidence.

02 / WHY IT MATTERS
A building with
a bigger local purpose.
The reported expansion goes beyond adding hotel rooms. A dedicated conference and events floor would create new capacity for organisations, government, business and community gatherings in Arawa.
NBC PNG also reported expected benefits through new jobs and additional hospitality training opportunities. That makes the project part of a wider story about local capability, investment and the future visitor economy of Central Bougainville.
Project details are attributed to NBC PNG’s report dated 19 August 2025. Construction status and specifications may have changed since publication.
